Terrigal Rock Pool sits at the southern end of Terrigal Beach, below the Skillion headland, newly rebuilt with a ramp in place of its old stairs and a 277 m boardwalk running past to The Haven. It's free, easy to reach and close to some of the Central Coast's best cafes.

What it's like
Central Coast Council rebuilt the pool from its foundations up, with new walls and a ramp that makes getting in far easier. The boardwalk curls around the headland past the pool, with a viewing platform, seating and lighting, so a swim turns easily into a stroll. Look up and the grassy Skillion rises above you, with the beach curving away to the north.
When to go
Calm days at mid to high tide give the best swim. Terrigal is busy on summer weekends, so early mornings are the quietest.
Getting there and facilities
Walk south along the Terrigal Beach promenade onto the boardwalk towards The Haven. Toilets, cafes and restaurants line the beachfront.
Good to know
There are no lifeguards at the pool, though Terrigal Beach is patrolled in season. The pool still floods with tide and swell, so watch the conditions.
