What it's like
Pearl Beach feels like a secret village, with bush running down to a small, sheltered beach, and the rock pool tucked into the cliff at its southern end. Railings, a walking platform and ladders help you down into the water. At 25 m it's good for a few unhurried laps, with the view across Broken Bay to Palm Beach and Barrenjoey.
When to go
Sunrise and sunset are the local favourites. Calm days at mid to high tide give the best swim.
Getting there and facilities
Walk to the southern end of Pearl Beach. The village has a small general store and cafe, and Woy Woy is about 20 minutes' drive away.
Good to know
There are no lifeguards at the pool. The ladders and cliff edges are slippery when wet.
