What it's like
The enclosure sits right at the water's edge below Seaforth, with bush on the slopes behind and yachts swinging on their moorings out in the bay. It's a simple, peaceful place for a swim, the kind you hear about from someone who lives nearby. Expect calm water and very few people.
When to go
Around high tide, since the enclosure gets much shallower at low tide. Skip it after heavy rain.
Getting there and facilities
From the nearest bus stop it's about a ten-minute walk down steep streets, then about 66 steps to the water. There are no change rooms or showers.
Good to know
There's no lifeguard on duty. The steps make it hard going for anyone with limited mobility.
