What it's like
The shark net encloses a stretch of shallow, calm bay water near the mouth of the Cooks River. These baths are very tidal: at high tide you're swimming soon after you wade in, but at low tide you walk a long way out before it gets deep. Expect a laid-back local crowd and a big open sky.
When to go
Go around high tide on a calm day. Skip it for a few days after heavy rain.
Getting there and facilities
The baths are at the north end of Lady Robinsons Beach, Kyeemagh, with toilets and showers in the building above. A foreshore path runs south along the bay from here.
Good to know
Nobody patrols here. Monterey, Ramsgate and Sandringham baths are further south along the same shore.
