What it's like
This is a broad, rectangular pool with room for lap swimmers along one side and families splashing about in the rest. Waves wash over the outer wall in a swell, and the surf beaches stretch away on both sides. It's the southernmost of a small cluster of pools along this stretch of Cronulla's beachfront.
When to go
Calm mornings are best. Summer weekends are busy, with the beachfront at full volume.
Getting there and facilities
The pool is off Gerrale Street, Cronulla, a short walk from Cronulla station and the mall. Toilets, showers, cafes and the beach are all close by.
Good to know
There are no lifeguards at the pool itself, though the beaches either side are patrolled in season. The rocks around the edge are slippery.
